Main Ingredients

Balsamic Glaze

Method

Preparation of Bacon Wrapped Dates

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare Dates

Carefully slice open each Medjool date and remove the pit. Stuff each date with approximately 5 grams of goat cheese.

  3. 3

    Wrap with Bacon

Wrap each stuffed date with a slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary. Place the wrapped dates seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Making Balsamic Glaze

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Reduce the Mixture

Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Allow it to simmer until it thickens, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Cool and Set Aside

Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and let the glaze cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.

Cooking

  1. 7

    Bake the Wrapped Dates

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy, turning halfway through to ensure even cooking.

  2. 8

    Serve

Remove the dates from the oven and drizzle with the balsamic glaze before serving. Optionally, sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
