Method

Preparing the Ribeye

  1. 1

    Slice the Ribeye

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain into strips.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribeye

In a bowl, mix the sliced ribeye with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Ribeye

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned ribeye and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preparing the Onions

  1. 4

    Slice the Onion

Peel and slice the medium onion into thin rings.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet used for the ribeye, add a little more olive oil if necessary and sauté the onion rings over medium heat until they are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Tater Tots

  1. 6

    Bake the Tater Tots

Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen tater tots. Spread the tater tots evenly on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, usually about 20-25 minutes.

Assembling the Philly Cheese Tots

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Once the tater tots are done baking, remove them from the oven and layer the cooked ribeye and sautéed onions on top.

  2. 8

    Add Cheese Sauce

Drizzle the cheddar cheese sauce generously over the assembled tater tots, ribeye, and onions.

Garnishing

  1. 9

    Garnish with Green Onions

Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the top for added flavor and garnish.
