Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overworking the meat to keep the patty tender.
- 2
Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Add Cheese
Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

Prepare the Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato into thick slices.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, spread 2 tablespoons of special sauce. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by lettuce and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
