Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cod Fillet
Rinse the cod fillet under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
- 2
Cook the Cod Fillet
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of oil. Once hot, place the cod fillet in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat.
Assembly
- 3
Toast the Bun
While the cod is cooking, lightly toast the hot dog bun in the same skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
- 4
Build the C-Dog
Spread 1 tablespoon of tartar sauce on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Place the cooked cod fillet on top of the sauce.
- 5
Add Cheese and Vegetables
Layer the American cheese slice over the cod fillet. Then, add the lettuce leaf, followed by the tomato slices and banana pepper slices.
- 6
Finish and Serve
Spread another tablespoon of tartar sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled ingredients. Serve immediately.
