Crab Cakes
Spicy Remoulade
Method
Crab Cakes Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and egg. Mix gently to combine without breaking up the crab meat too much.
- 2
Add Dry Ingredients
Add the bread crumbs, chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Stir until everything is well combined.
- 3
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 4
Form the Cakes
After chilling, remove the mixture from the refrigerator and form it into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
- 5
Cook the Crab Cakes
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes in batches and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Spicy Remoulade Preparation
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, lemon juice, paprika, and garlic powder. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
- 7
Chill the Sauce
Cover and refrigerate the remoulade for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
