Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with kosher salt and black pepper. For a deeper flavor, you can add minced garlic and herbs from the optional marinade at this stage.

Cooking

3

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but does not smoke.

4

Cook the Steak

Place the ribeye steaks in the hot pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the steaks and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

5

Add Optional Marinade

If using, add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan during the last minute of cooking. Spoon the melted butter and herbs over the steaks for added flavor.

6

Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

7

Slice and Serve

Slice the ribeye steaks against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy with your favorite sides.
