Main Ingredients

Garlic Butter

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it's very hot.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Add olive oil to the hot pan. Carefully place the seasoned ribeye steaks in the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them to get a good sear.

  4. 4

    Flip the Steak

Flip the steaks using tongs and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time if you prefer a different doneness.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

While the steak is cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 6

    Finish the Butter

Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh parsley. Set aside.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Baste the Steak

During the last minute of cooking the steak, spoon the garlic butter over the top of the steaks to baste them.

  2. 8

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 9

    Serve

Slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately with the remaining garlic butter drizzled over the top.
