Beef Tenderloin

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Beef Tenderloin

  1. 1

    Preheat and Prepare

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Let the beef tenderloin sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil over the surface of the meat. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh rosemary.

  3. 3

    Sear the Beef

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef tenderloin and sear on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  4. 4

    Add Garlic and Butter

Add the garlic cloves to the skillet, then add butter on top of the beef. Spoon some of the melted butter over the tenderloin for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Roast the Beef

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.

  6. 6

    Rest the Beef

Remove the skillet from the oven and let the beef rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.

  2. 8

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 9

    Melt Butter and Garlic

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  4. 10

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the melted butter and garlic, milk, salt, and black pepper.

  5. 11

    Mix Until Smooth

Mash the potatoes with a potato masher until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
