Meatballs

Caramelized Onion Cream Sauce

Method

Preparing the Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground Wagyu beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Baking

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Making the Caramelized Onion Cream Sauce

  1. 4

    Caramelizing Onions

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

  2. 5

    Adding Cream and Broth

Once the onions are caramelized, add the heavy cream, beef broth, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combining and Serving

  1. 6

    Combining Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the skillet with the caramelized onion cream sauce. Gently toss to coat the meatballs in the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serving

Serve the Wagyu meatballs hot, drizzled with extra sauce, and garnish with additional parsley if desired.
