Wine Making Process
1. Harvesting the Grapes
Select and harvest ripe Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the vineyard. Ensure that the grapes are healthy and free of defects.
2. Crushing and Destemming
Crush the harvested grapes to release their juices and separate the stems. This can be done using a wine press or manually.
3. Fermentation
Transfer the crushed grapes to a fermentation vessel. Add water and sugar to the grape juice. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture and stir gently to combine. Cover the vessel with a cloth and let it sit at room temperature for about 7-10 days, stirring daily.
4. Pressing
Once fermentation is complete, press the mixture to separate the liquid (wine) from the solids (grape skins). Use a wine press for this step.
5. Aging
Transfer the wine to a clean, sterilized aging vessel and add oak chips. Allow the wine to age for at least 6 months. Store in a cool, dark place, and check periodically for taste.
