Tuna Tartare

Sticky Coconut Rice

Method

Tuna Tartare Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Dice the yellowfin tuna into small cubes and place in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Seasoning

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and finely chopped scallions to the diced tuna. Gently mix to combine.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out. Dice the avocado into small cubes and add to the tuna mixture.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and pickled ginger over the tartare. Mix gently to incorporate.

Sticky Coconut Rice Preparation

  1. 5

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. 7

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.

  4. 8

    Fluff the Rice

Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
