Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the brioche bread into 1-inch cubes and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Bread and Custard

Pour the custard mixture over the brioche cubes. Gently fold the bread into the mixture until all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the soaked bread mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Hot Fudge

While the bread pudding is baking, prepare hot fudge by melting chocolate with heavy cream over low heat until smooth.

  6. 6

    Make Chantilly Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  7. 7

    Serve

Once the bread pudding is baked, let it cool slightly. Serve warm with hot fudge drizzled over the top and a dollop of chantilly cream.
