Fettuccine Bolognese Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

1

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

3

Add Bacon and Meats

Add smoked bacon to the skillet and cook until crispy. Then, add ground beef, veal, and pork; cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a spoon.

4

Incorporate Garlic and Tomatoes

Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add crushed tomatoes and red wine. Season with salt and black pepper.

5

Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.

7

Serve

Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.
