Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bacon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the steak cut bacon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Season the Bacon

In a small bowl, mix together black pepper, brown sugar, and salt. Rub this mixture generously over the bacon slices.

  3. 3

    Make the Bourbon Glaze

In a saucepan, combine bourbon, soy sauce, and olive oil. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Bake the Bacon

Drizzle half of the bourbon glaze over the seasoned bacon. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until crispy.

  5. 5

    Garnish with Jalapeño

While the bacon is baking, thinly slice the jalapeño. Once the bacon is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the remaining glaze over the top. Add the shaved jalapeño slices as a garnish.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the bacon rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.
