Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Make the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into 8-ounce patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 3

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Fry the Onions

In the same skillet, add thinly sliced onions and fry until golden brown and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Add the first patty with melted cheddar, followed by the fried onions and two slices of bacon. Top with the second patty, drizzle with beer BBQ sauce, and finish with the top bun.
