Salad Base
Spicy Candied Bacon
Honey Drizzle
Method
Preparing the Spicy Candied Bacon
- 1
Cook the Bacon
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lay the bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 2
Add the Sugar and Spices
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the bacon strips.
- 3
Bake the Bacon
Bake the bacon in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and caramelized. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
- 4
Cool the Bacon
Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Prepare the Base
In a large salad bowl, add the spring mix as the base of your salad.
- 6
Add the Goat Cheese
Crumble the goat cheese over the spring mix evenly.
- 7
Add the Spicy Candied Bacon
Once the bacon has cooled, chop it into smaller pieces and sprinkle it over the salad.
- 8
Drizzle with Honey
Finally, drizzle the honey over the entire salad to add sweetness and finish the dish.
