Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Whisk Eggs and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until well combined and slightly frothy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth.

  5. 5

    Add Flour

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Evenly distribute the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

  8. 8

    Serve

Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then invert them onto plates. Serve immediately with scoops of vanilla ice cream on the side.
