In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

Prepare the Marinade

Place the Ahi tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let the tuna marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over high heat until hot.

Heat the Pan

Remove the tuna from the marinade and let the excess drip off. Sprinkle both sides with black and white sesame seeds. Place the tuna in the hot pan and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on your desired doneness.

Sear the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the pan and let it rest for a minute. Slice against the grain and serve immediately, optionally with additional soy sauce for dipping.
