French Fries

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the ribeye steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the French Fries

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 5

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 6

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the water and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.

  4. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 9

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
