Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the ribeye steak with olive oil, ensuring it's evenly coated. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and rosemary on both sides, pressing the seasoning into the meat.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are glowing and covered with white ash. For a gas grill, allow it to heat for about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to achieve nice grill marks.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the cooking time according to your preferred doneness level.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the ribeye steak from the grill and place it on a cutting board. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve it hot. Enjoy with your favorite sides or sauces.
