Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Chicken

In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Bake the Chicken

Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the chicken breasts and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Spaghetti Cooking

  1. 4

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 5

    Cook the Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Red Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Sauté Garlic

In a saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 7

    Make the Sauce

Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well and let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Combine Everything

Once the chicken is done baking, slice it if desired. Serve the cooked spaghetti topped with the red sauce, place the chicken on top, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Optionally, you can broil the assembled dish for a few minutes to melt the mozzarella.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve hot with additional Parmesan cheese on the side.
