Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomato Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over medium heat until warmed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Slice the Pepperoni

While the sauce is warming, slice the Red Hog pepperoni into thin rounds if they are not pre-sliced.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Pickled Fresnos

If using whole pickled fresnos, slice them into rings or leave them whole for garnish as desired.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or to the temperature recommended on your pizza dough package.

  2. 5

    Roll Out the Dough

Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, typically about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 6

    Spread the Sauce

Spread the warmed tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough, leaving about a 1/2 inch border around the edge.

  4. 7

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the sliced Red Hog pepperoni and pickled fresnos.

  5. 8

    Drizzle with Honey

Drizzle the Calabrian chili honey evenly over the top of the pizza for a sweet and spicy finish.

Baking

  1. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the assembled pizza onto a pizza stone or baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  2. 10

    Cool and Slice

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into wedges.
