Cooking Pasta

Prepare the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook the Bucatini
Add the bucatini pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water for later use.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sugo
Add the drained bucatini to the beef sugo. Toss gently to coat the pasta with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.

Serve
Serve the bucatini hot, garnished with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and fresh basil leaves.
