Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, cumin, and brown sugar. Make sure it is well coated.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.

  3. 3

    Brown the Pork

Add the seasoned pork shoulder to the skillet and brown it on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Liquids

Pour in the apple cider vinegar and BBQ sauce, making sure the pork is covered in the liquid.

  5. 5

    Slow Cook

Cover the skillet or transfer everything to a slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.

  6. 6

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the skillet/cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the sauce and mix well.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the pulled pork on buns, in tacos, or on its own, garnished with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
