Bag of Chips

Method

Bag of Chips

  1. 1

Check the bag for any visible damage or large holes. If intact, shake the bag gently to redistribute chips evenly and settle air pockets.

  2. 2

Open the bag carefully along the top seam with clean hands or scissors to avoid crushing chips. Open onto a large serving bowl or platter if serving multiple people; keep in the bag if serving casually or for single-person snacking.

  3. 3

Toss lightly in the bowl to expose any broken pieces to the top and remove any excess crumbs if desired. If you want to crisp chips that have gone slightly stale, preheat an oven to 275°F (135°C), spread chips in a single layer on a baking sheet, and heat 3–5 minutes; let cool slightly before serving.

  4. 4

Serve immediately to maintain crispness. If keeping unused chips, reseal bag by folding the top tightly or use a clip and store in a cool, dry place to preserve texture.

Optional Serving Additions

  1. 5

    Prepare Dip

Place your chosen dip in a small bowl. If using a refrigerated dip, stir briefly to combine before serving. If using salsa or guacamole, taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or a squeeze of lime.

  2. 6

    Plate and Garnish

Pour chips into a large serving bowl or arrange on a platter. Put the dip bowl in the center or to the side. Sprinkle chopped herbs over the dip or lightly over the chips for color. Offer lime wedges and finishing salt on the side for guests who want extra brightness or salt.

  3. 7

If transporting, pack chips in their resealed bag or an airtight container and keep dips chilled in a separate sealed container. Assemble just before serving to keep chips crunchy.
