Coney Island Beef

Toppings

Method

Prepare Coney Island Beef

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).

  2. 2

    Add Onions

Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the spices with the beef and onion.

  4. 4

    Add Water

Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Assemble the Coney Island

  1. 5

    Prepare the Toppings

While the beef is simmering, finely chop the remaining half cup of white onion and set it aside. Have your yellow mustard and sport peppers ready.

  2. 6

    Serve the Dish

Once the beef mixture is ready, spoon it onto a plate. Top with yellow mustard, the chopped white onion, and sport peppers as desired.

  3. 7

    Add Kettle Chips

Serve with a side of kettle chips for a crunchy complement to your Coney Island.
