Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Fish
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and cut them into strips.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and cayenne pepper. Gradually add cold water until you achieve a smooth batter.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- 4
Fry the Fish
Dip each fish strip into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Warm the Tortillas
In a separate skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
- 6
Assemble the Tacos
Place a few pieces of fried fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.
- 7
Serve
Serve the tacos with extra lime wedges on the side.
