Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp of cayenne pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Dredge the Chicken
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, remaining 1 tsp of cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken and fry for 7-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with dill pickles and lettuce leaves. Spread garlic aioli on the top half of the bun, then close the sandwich.
