Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mac & Cheese

Cook the macaroni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, stir in flour, and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Once the mixture thickens, add the cheddar cheese and stir until melted. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Form and Cook the Burgers

Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties, season with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of American cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a burger patty with melted cheese. Top with a generous scoop of mac & cheese, crispy bacon, and crispy onions. Drizzle with garlic aioli, and top with the other half of the bun.
