- 1
Char the grapefruit
Using a grill or grill pan over medium heat, halve a grapefruit and char cut sides until dark grill marks and smoky aroma develop. Squeeze or press the charred fruit to yield about 30 ml of juice.
- 2
Rim the glass with salt
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled highball glass, then dip the rim into a small dish of salt to coat.
- 3
Mix the base
Fill the glass with ice. In a shaker or measuring jug, combine blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and charred grapefruit juice. Stir or shake briefly to integrate.
- 4
Assemble
Pour the tequila mixture over the ice. Top with Jarritos grapefruit soda and give a gentle stir to incorporate without losing fizz.
- 5
Garnish and finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or grapefruit wedge if desired. Serve immediately.
