Preparation of Bread

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Bread
Slice the Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Prepare the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and slice them in half.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil and place in the oven.

Toast the Bread
Toast the bread in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven.

While the bread is still warm, rub the cut side of the garlic on each slice to impart flavor.

Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Gently toss all the ingredients in the bowl until well combined. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
