Garlic Butter
Bread & Finishing
Method
Garlic Butter
- 1
Soften and mix butter
Soften the unsalted butter to room temperature (about 20–30 minutes) or microwave in 5–7 second bursts until pliable but not melted. Place softened butter in a medium mixing bowl.
- 2
Add aromatics and seasonings
Add the minced garlic, finely chopped parsley, grated Parmesan, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the bowl with butter. Mix thoroughly with a fork or spatula until fully combined and smooth, scraping down the sides so the flavors are evenly distributed.

Bread Preparation
- 4
Preheat oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a broiler to finish, position a rack about 6 inches from the broiler element.
- 5
Prepare the loaf
Slice the baguette in half lengthwise to make two long halves. Alternatively, for individual servings, cut the loaf into 1–1.5 inch thick diagonal slices, but keep them connected at the base if you prefer pull-apart style.

- 7
- 8
Add finishing cheese
Sprinkle the extra grated Parmesan evenly over the buttered surface.
Toasting & Serving
- 9
Bake until golden
Place the prepared bread cut-side-up on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment. Bake in the preheated 425°F (220°C) oven for 8–10 minutes, until the butter is bubbly and the edges start to turn golden.
- 10
Optional broil for extra color
For a deep golden top, switch the oven to broil and broil on high for 1–2 minutes, watching very closely to avoid burning. Remove once the top is evenly golden and the cheese is lightly browned.
- 11
Garnish and slice
Remove the garlic bread from the oven. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top for freshness. If you baked halves, slice into serving pieces; if you made pull-apart slices, separate into portions.
- 12
Serve warm
Serve immediately while hot and crisp. Provide extra grated Parmesan and red pepper flakes at the table if desired.
