Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place your pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

  2. 6

    Divide Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into three equal parts for the three pizzas.

  3. 7

    Shape Pizzas

On a floured surface, stretch or roll out each dough ball into a 20-inch circle, making sure the edges are slightly thicker for the crust.

  4. 8

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread 1 cup of tomato sauce evenly over each pizza base. Sprinkle 3 cups of mozzarella cheese and 0.5 cups of grated parmesan cheese on top. Add oregano and basil to taste.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizzas

Carefully transfer each pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

  6. 10

    Slice and Serve

Remove the pizzas from the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve hot.
