Bottle / Pour

Method

Preparation & Pouring

  1. 1

    Choose glassware

Select a clean Bordeaux-style red wine glass with a large bowl and a slightly narrower rim to concentrate aromas. Ensure the glass is free of detergent residue by rinsing with a small amount of water and allowing to air dry or wiping with a lint-free towel.

  2. 2

    Bottle temperature

Serve Theoleo Cabernet Sauvignon slightly below room temperature, ideally between 60–65°F (15–18°C). If the bottle is too warm, chill it upright in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes. If it is too cold, remove it 10–15 minutes before serving to warm gently.

  3. 3

    Open the bottle

Cut and remove the foil, center the corkscrew on the cork and extract the cork smoothly. Wipe the bottle lip with a clean cloth to remove any sediment or cork particles.

  4. 4

    Decanting (optional)

If the bottle is older than 5–7 years or you want more immediate aeration, pour the wine slowly into a clean decanter in one steady stream. For a younger Theoleo Cabernet Sauvignon, decanting for 15–30 minutes can open fruit, soften tannins, and release aromatics. If not decanting, allow the wine to rest in the opened bottle for 10–15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Pour

Hold the glass by the stem and pour a standard tasting/serving of 5–6 oz (approximately one glass). Pour slowly to avoid splashing and to control the flow; stop pouring when the wine reaches the widest part of the bowl to allow swirling.

  6. 6

    Swirl and smell

Gently swirl the wine in the glass 2–3 times to release aromatics. Bring the glass to your nose and take 2-3 short sniffs to identify primary notes (black cherry, cassis), secondary notes (oak, vanilla) and tertiary notes if present (earth, leather).

  7. 7

    Taste

Take a small sip and let it coat the palate. Note body (medium-full), tannin structure (moderate to firm), acidity (balanced), and finish (length and flavor progression). For subsequent sips, allow the wine to open between tastes.

Serving & Pairing

  1. 8

    Serve with food

Pair Theoleo Cabernet Sauvignon with hearty foods: grilled or roasted red meats (steak, lamb), aged hard cheeses (cheddar, manchego), or rich mushroom dishes. Offer small portions of recommended pairings (1–2 oz cheese or charcuterie, 1 slice bread) alongside the glass if presenting to a guest.

  2. 9

    Storage of opened bottle

If not finishing the bottle, re-cork or use a wine stopper and refrigerate the bottle upright. Consume within 3–5 days for best quality. For longer freshness, use a vacuum pump or inert gas preservative.

  3. 10

    Notes

Adjust aeration and serving temperature to taste: cooler for brighter fruit presentation, slightly warmer for more pronounced aromatics and softer tannins. Always serve in appropriate glassware and avoid metallic or heavily-scented dishes that can mask the wine’s profile.
