Tea Base
Mango Purée
Assembly & Garnish
Method
Tea Base
- 1
Boil water
Bring 3 cups water to a simmer in a small saucepan or kettle.
- 2
Steep tea
Pour the hot water over the green tea bags (or loose leaf in an infuser) in a heatproof container. Steep 3 minutes for light, fresh green-tea flavor (up to 4 minutes if you prefer stronger). Avoid oversteeping to prevent bitterness.
- 3
Sweeten and cool
Remove tea bags or strain leaves. While the tea is still warm, stir in 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or honey) until dissolved. Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature (about 15–20 minutes) or chill in the refrigerator for faster cooling.
Mango Purée
- 4
Prepare mango
Peel and dice ripe mango (or use frozen mango chunks thawed). Measure about 1 cup of mango flesh.
- 5
Blend
In a blender or food processor, combine the mango flesh, 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice, and 2 tablespoons cold water. Purée until completely smooth. Taste and add up to 1 teaspoon more lime juice if you want brighter acidity.
- 6
Assembly & Garnish
- 7
Combine
Fill two serving glasses with ice (divide 1 cup ice between them). Pour half of the cooled sweetened green tea into each glass, leaving room for mango purée.
- 8
- 9
Garnish and serve
Garnish each glass with 3 mint leaves and a mango slice on the rim if desired. Serve immediately with a straw so the drink can be shaken or stirred before drinking.
