Fried Chicken Ingredients

Method

Fried Chicken Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Flour Mixture

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coat. Shake off any excess flour.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil. Fry for about 8-10 minutes on each side or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C).

  6. 6

    Prepare the Sriracha Honey

In a small bowl, mix together the sriracha and honey until well combined.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Spicy Aioli

In another bowl, mix the mayonnaise and hot sauce until smooth.

  8. 8

    Serve

Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve with pimento cheese, sriracha honey, spicy aioli, and pickles on the side.
