Cake Preparation
- 1
Make the Cake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- 2
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- 3
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
- 4
Prepare the Tres Leches Mixture
In a medium bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk until well combined.
- 5
Once the cake is cooled, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Slowly pour the tres leches mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 6
Make the Whipped Cream
In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- 7
Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake and serve with Patrón Citronge-berry salsa.
