Cook the Protein
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef or diced chicken breast. Cook until browned (for beef) or fully cooked (for chicken), breaking it up as it cooks.

Once the meat is cooked, drain excess fat (if using beef). Stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the meat is well coated and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare Taco Shells
Warm the soft taco shells in a microwave or on a skillet for about 30 seconds to make them pliable.

Spoon the seasoned meat mixture into the center of each taco shell. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes.
