Method

Prepare the Base

    Prepare Tortilla Chips

    Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large serving platter or baking sheet.

Prepare Chili or Beans & Rice

    Heat Chili or Beans & Rice

    In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the canned chili or combine the cooked rice and canned black beans, stirring until heated through.

Add Toppings

    Layer the Nachos

    Evenly spoon the warm chili or beans & rice mixture over the tortilla chips. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top, followed by the diced onions, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños.

Serve

    Add Condiments

    Serve the nachos with salsa and sour cream on the side. If you opted for queso, drizzle it over the nachos or serve it in a bowl for dipping.

Optional Protein

    Add Chicken (if desired)

    If you are adding chicken, sprinkle the cooked, shredded chicken over the nachos before adding the toppings.
