Coke (Classic) - Single Serving
Coke with Simple Syrup (for making small batch of sweet cola or adjusting sweetness)
Method
Coke (Classic) - Single Serving
- 1
- 2
If you used ice and water to chill, discard the water and add fresh ice cubes to the glass (about 6 cubes).
- 3
Pour 12 fl oz (one standard can) of chilled Coca‑Cola slowly into the glass over the ice to preserve carbonation.
- 4
- 5
Garnish with a lime or lemon wedge if desired—squeeze lightly over the drink and drop it in.
- 6
Optional: Simple Syrup (small batch) — for adjusting sweetness or making homemade cola-ish mix
- 7
Make simple syrup
Combine 0.25 cups water and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves and the liquid is clear, about 2–3 minutes. Do not boil. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
- 8
Stir in 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract after cooling to add a hint of cola-like flavor. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- 9
To adjust a prepared Coca‑Cola: add 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon of the syrup to a 12 fl oz glass of Coke to slightly alter sweetness or flavor, stir gently, and taste. Add more only if desired.
