Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub this mixture all over the ribeye steaks and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Once hot, place the marinated steaks on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the grill for aroma.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This helps to retain the juices.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick). Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving crispy fries.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the dried potato strips in batches, frying them for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
