Directions
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
- 2
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- 3
Add the Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
- 4
Incorporate Cheese
Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet and stir until melted and well combined. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add in reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- 5
Season the Sauce
Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
- 6
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- 7
Serve
Plate the fettuccine Alfredo, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
