Method
Chips Preparation
- 1
Cut the Tortillas
Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to create your chips.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- 3
Fry the Chips
Carefully add the tortilla wedges to the hot oil, frying them in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- 4
Drain and Season
Remove the fried chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
Salsa Preparation
- 5
Chop the Vegetables
Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno pepper. If you like less heat, remove the seeds from the jalapeno before chopping.
- 6
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, and cilantro.
- 7
Add Lime Juice and Salt
Pour in the lime juice and sprinkle with salt. Mix well to combine.
- 8
Let it Rest
Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
