Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, then form into two equal-sized patties.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the strips of smoked bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 3
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet, with some of the bacon fat, increase the heat to medium-high and cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.
- 4
Add Cheese
After flipping the patties, place a slice of your choice of Cheddar cheese or Bleu cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to medium well (internal temperature of 160°F).
Assembly and Serving
- 5
Toast the Buns
While the burgers finish cooking, split the brioche buns and toast them lightly on another skillet or in a toaster.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Start by placing one cooked patty on the bottom half of the toasted brioche bun. Top with crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sweet pickle slices. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- 7
Serve with Chips
Serve the assembled burgers alongside potato chips for a complete meal.
