Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season Ribs

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Rub the pork ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring the ribs are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Bake Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

Making BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. 4

    Cook Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow to cook for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Preparing Fries

  1. 5

    Cut Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into fries of even thickness for uniform cooking.

  2. 6

    Fry Potatoes

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 7

    Season Fries

While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt to taste.

Finishing Touches

  1. 8

    Glaze Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven and brush them liberally with the BBQ sauce. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.

  2. 9

    Serve

Once done, remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then cut them into portions. Serve with fries on the side and extra BBQ sauce if desired.
