Method

Preparation of the Patties

  1. 1

    Form the Beef Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Teriyaki Mushroom Topping

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions and Mushrooms

In a separate skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.

  2. 4

    Add Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet with the onions and continue to sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and browned.

  3. 5

    Add Teriyaki Sauce

Pour the teriyaki sauce over the sautéed mushrooms and onions, stirring to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

Once the beef patties are cooked, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and allow it to melt for about a minute. Place each patty on a hamburger bun and generously top with the teriyaki mushrooms and onions.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while they are hot, with your favorite sides.
