Steak Preparation

Prepare the Steak
Take the USDA Prime Striploin out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Preheat your grill to high heat.

Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick). Soak the fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Drain and pat dry the soaked potatoes. Fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
Tomato Salad Preparation

Chop the Tomatoes
Cut the homegrown tomatoes into wedges or slices, depending on your preference.

Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the sliced tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. Toss gently to combine.

Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
