Preparing the Meatballs

Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the Meatballs to the Sauce
Return the browned meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 15 minutes.
Cooking the Spaghetti

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt.

Cook the Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Spaghetti
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and set aside.
Serving the Dish

Plate the Spaghetti
Place a serving of spaghetti on each plate.

Top with Meatballs and Sauce
Spoon the meatballs and sauce generously over the spaghetti.

Garnish and Serve
Optional: Garnish with additional grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley before serving.
