Tiramisu Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined.
- 3
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso and optional coffee liqueur. Let it cool slightly.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture (do not soak) and layer them in a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
