Prepare the Espresso
Brew a fresh shot of espresso and set aside to cool slightly.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the white rum, coffee liqueur, and fresh brewed espresso. If desired, add Irish cream.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass. Optionally, garnish with coffee beans or a dusting of cocoa powder.
